Who is Troop 1177?

Scouts BSA, Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scout Troop 1177 was originally chartered back in 1973.  That's over 45 years ago.

We have been charter sponsored by Foundry United Methodist Church at 8350 Jones Rd, Jersey Village, Texas for most of those years of service.

We meet on typically on Monday nights from 7:00 - 8:30 pm in the Godwin-Wright Scout Building behind the main church during the CF-ISD calendar school year.

Troop 1177 is a general interest troop with a varied program of camping, service and advancement with a lot of fun included. We normally camp monthly during the CF-ISD school year and plan to attend a week long Summer Camp and various High Adventure Camping opportunities annually.  Campouts include at least one cold weather backpacking trip, a canoeing trip, several camping outings throughout our great state of Texas and a Summer Camp and/or High Adventure outings.

We encourage and are fortunate to have tremendous adult participation and support in our Troop.  Throughout the years, we have found that the likelihood of a young man enjoying and being sucessful in Scouting is directly linked to the quality of the leadership and the amount of parental support that he receives in Scouting.
